Read to a specially trained dog who loves to hear a good book! The dogs particularly enjoy hearing one of the dog stories we will have, but you can bring your own book too. It is especially valuable in building self confidence and self-esteem for those needing an uncritical, appreciative, listening audience to improve reading skills. Exhibit - June 1-30, Library hours Oklahoma's own award-winning artist and illustrator Mike Wimmer has illustrated many books for children, including "Home Run: The Story of Babe Ruth." The book, written by Robert Burleigh, was named an ALA Notable Children's Book. The exhibit includes 17 paintings of original artwork for Home Run.

Summer Reading Kick-Off: Instrument Playground

Crash! Boom! Squeak! Scrape! The Philharmonic's Instrument Playground offers youngsters the chance to try out a selection of orchestral instruments at every concert of the Discovery Family Series. Trained docents show the kids how to manipulate trombones, trumpets, flutes, violins, a cello and percussion instruments of all types.

Sebastian Bellaton Oliver Williams III, the digger dog, takes shoes, socks, jewelry and anything else he can carry and hides them in holes all over the neighborhood. When he is burying Miss Betty's Mardi Gras beads he discovers a very large fossilized bone. The bone is from a Saurophaganax; the Oklahoma state dinosaur.

A developmental screening is a very general look at how children are doing compared to other children the same age. At a screening appointment, your child?s developmental progress will be assessed.
