Children Reading to Dogs

Reluctant readers, emergent readers, and readers who just need more practice can sharpen their reading skills by reading to a Certified Therapy Dog and their owner. Reading to a dog is a great way to practice reading aloud; the dogs and their owners are an uncritical audience. Studies show that kids gain confidence and their reading scores improve when they practice reading aloud to dogs. Kids can bring their own book or choose one from our shelves. Red Dirt Stamping

Sebastian Bellaton Oliver Williams III, the digger dog, takes shoes, socks, jewelry and anything else he can carry and hides them in holes all over the neighborhood. When he is burying Miss Betty's Mardi Gras beads he discovers a very large fossilized bone. The bone is from a Saurophaganax; the Oklahoma state dinosaur.
